Liberia, which has a majority of Christians, is no less chaotic and oppressive than the bordering country of Sierra Leone, which has a Muslim majority. Anyone with an iota of insight could tell you that criticism against "muslim" actions is false dichotomy. Regional culture is their problem. Criticizing regional culture IS racism.
It helps modern interventionists rally for war if you can clump all Muslims together in a collective; this is the same thing they did to the Japanese in WWII. Why else would there be significant antimuslim sentiment today, even as we've been bombing an overwhelming majority of Muslim civillians in their own countries?
I don't know why atheists can't accept that political motivation, not religious motivation is the main cause of atrocities in the world. If you want government policies free of the chains of religion, take a look at the USSR, Imperial Japan, or Mao's China. They aren't exactly the utopias you envisioned.

The fact is, when people criticize Muslims, they don't have quarrels with Uzbekis who have one of the highest literacy rates in the world for men and women. They don't mean Uyghurs who are oppressed by a Chinese fascist state already. You won't see Tatars get stopped at an airport. They mean the Middle Easterners and more-recently, Africans.
